John Capalbo

Partner

John Capalbo is a Partner in Strategic Transformation. He brings over 18 years of experience advising academic and community health systems, provider organizations, provider-sponsored health plans, and cancer center clients. Passionate about building integrated teams and driving meaningful change, John helps clinical and enterprise leaders shape a future that finds strength in the pivotal strategic challenges that they face. His expertise spans enterprise strategy, partnership formation and integration planning, service line growth, research and academic alignment, and footprint optimization.

Before joining Chartis, John advised healthcare leaders as a Director in PwC-Strategy&’s provider strategy practice. Prior to that, he was an Associate Director at NYU’s College of Nursing, where he designed and led multiple grant-funded projects focused on improving care for older adults through academic trainings and community outreach programs.

John has authored multiple perspectives on trends in academic health, higher education, and clinical trials, and has been featured on the Next in Health podcast. He has served as a preceptor in the Master of Health Administration program at Johns Hopkins University and has volunteered strategic planning support for nonprofit organizations focused on both educational equity and Ukrainian causes.

John received his Master of Business Administration from the Stern School of Business at NYU, where he received the Dean’s Award for Outstanding Scholarship. He earned his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Pennsylvania, where he studied English and Communications.
