Chartis, a comprehensive healthcare advisory firm, today announced that Paul Murphree, DO, has joined the firm as a Partner in Clinical Transformation. Murphree has spent more than 15 years refining safety and quality programs for health systems and health plans.
As part of Chartis’ High Reliability team, Murphree will combine his medical background and operational expertise to counsel clients on bylaws, rules and regulations, and peer review—ultimately ensuring they receive sustainable solutions that elevate care quality and equity.

Prior to joining Chartis, Murphree served as Chief Medical Officer at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Louisiana and Chief Medical Information Officer at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Additionally, he has established a premier physician leadership academy, where he presents regularly on peer review and other critical medical staff topics.
Murphree received his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from the University of North Texas Health Science Center. He also received a Doctor of Science in Health Systems Management from Tulane School of Public Health. Prior to entering the healthcare field, he completed a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering and worked in advanced avionics, electronics, and computer science for a large military contractor.
