James Karpook is a Partner in Clinical Transformation. James has over 30 years of experience providing a wide range of advisory services to executive and physician leadership of hospitals, health systems, academic medical centers, and provider organizations.
His recent client work in performance has included: operational and clinical process optimization in hospital and ambulatory care settings, care team transformation, access, capacity, and throughput management, care management program planning and development, perioperative services design, and post-merger integration. His client work in strategic planning has included post-acute care strategy development and network design, hospital and physician alignment, accountable care readiness assessment and planning, and integrated delivery system design.
Before joining Chartis, James was a Senior Partner with CSC and its predecessor, APM Management Consultants. James is a recognized leader in the areas of operational and clinical performance improvement in hospitals and health systems and has authored several papers on performance transformation. He has presented on this topic at ACHE, the AHA Leadership Summit, AONE, the Pediatric Collaborative for Value-Based Care, OR Manager, and NCHE. James is Chairman of the Board of Directors of The Coordinating Center, a not-for-profit organization that provides community-based care coordination for people with disabilities and the most complex medical and social needs.
James received his Master of Business Administration and Bachelor of Science degree from Columbia University in New York City.
