Angelica Purpura is an Associate Partner with Chartis in Financial Transformation. Angelica has nearly 10 years of experience in management consulting advising and directly working with a variety of different healthcare clients including academic medical centers, non-profit hospitals, physician practices, and a Fortune 5 healthcare company. Bringing a blend of operational awareness, Electronic Health Record (EHR) system adoption, and change management abilities, Angelica is able to effectively help drive adaptation and positive change to support and execute on engagement plans. She specializes in revenue cycle management and is dedicated to helping healthcare providers establish highly efficient workflows and operations necessary to drive long term sustainability, success, and overall financial and operational results. Her considerable expertise includes areas in project management across multi-disciplinary solutions, inclusive of operational readiness, data analytics/reporting, workflow review, and organizational design planning.
Angelica's experience and deep understanding of revenue cycle operational processes has provided her several opportunities to work with clients and major EHR systems to design, develop, and optimize workflows. Through these efforts, she has a proven track record of bringing together multi-disciplinary work groups, including hospital management, physician group representation, and Information Technology (IT) teams, to facilitate decision-making and lead work group discussions which drove process alignment and leading practice workflow standardization. Angelica's most recent and significant engagement focused on leading a cost to collect evaluation to identify operational and technical opportunities to reduce the revenue cycle related costs. She partnered with key executive stakeholders to provide workflow, productivity, and technology recommendations for cost reduction savings through centralization, integration, and outsourcing opportunities. As part of this engagement, Angelica's primary responsibilities included managing project plan timelines and milestones, developing a near and long-term cost reduction strategy, providing advisory support for vendor outsourcing exploration, and revenue cycle functional centralization.
Prior to joining Chartis, Angelica served as a Consulting Supervisor with RSM US LLP, where she successfully led numerous revenue cycle engagement focused on improving operational workflows and financial performance within patient access and patient financial services.
In addition, Angelica is an active member within Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA) and National Association of Healthcare Access Management (NAHAM).
Angelica holds a Bachelor of Science in community health with a concentration in health planning and administration from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and is currently pursuing her Master of Business Administrative (MBA) at Northwestern Kellogg School of Management.
