Melissa McCain is a Senior Partner in Clinical Transformation and co-leads the Consumer Access practice. For more than 20 years, Melissa has advised leading national and regional health systems and academic medical centers. She has spent the last several years advising executive leadership on the development and successful execution of operational strategy to support organizational economic and mission sustainability. Melissa directs consulting engagements in the areas of clinical and operational performance improvement, value-based operational planning, and organizational alignment. Melissa is also a national speaker and written extensively on consumer access and advanced primary care models.
Melissa has partnered with national and regional health system clients across the country on realizing sustainable impact through operational strategy development and implementation. Her approach incorporates design thinking and change management methods to help clients build sustained organizational capabilities in consumer access experience including integrated digital solutions, care team transformation, and next frontier primary care.
Before joining Chartis, Melissa was a Senior Consultant at CSC Healthcare and its predecessor, APM Management Consultants, where she worked on post-merger integration and operations redesign. As an advisor to the senior leadership team for a large regional health system, she created an internal advisory and project management office with broad objectives including performance improvement and management, innovation to create the ideal patient experience, and senior leadership team development.
Melissa earned her Master's degree in public and private management from the Yale School of Management with a concentration in organizational behavior and change management. Melissa earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology and German from Grinnell College.
