Eric Mayeda co-leads the Strategic Transformation Line of Business. He has over 20 years of healthcare management consulting experience. Eric has served as a senior advisor and strategist to leading healthcare-focused private equity firms, public and private healthcare services and technology companies, academic medical centers and children’s hospitals, national and regional health systems, physician organizations, and payers.
Eric has advised clients on a number of the largest and most noteworthy healthcare transactions over the last several years across a variety of healthcare sectors, including: value-based primary and specialty care, behavioral health and substance use disorder treatment, virtual care, single and multi-specialty physician groups, IDD/home and community based services, physical therapy, home health/hospice, tech-enabled healthcare services, healthcare data and analytics, and others. The principal areas of his consulting practice comprise buy/sell-side due diligence, enterprise strategy and go-to-market planning, partnership development, product/service commercialization strategy, delivery network formation and optimization, and service line planning. Examples of his recent work include: comprehensive market, operational, IT, payer contracting, and revenue cycle due diligence for a healthcare PE firm on a $1.5B multispecialty medical group transaction; sell-side market study for $1.3B behavioral health and substance use treatment platform; go-to-market strategy for a value-based specialty care provider; global product commercialization strategy for a PE-backed, healthcare reporting and analytics company; and enterprise growth strategy for a $2B national physician services platform.
Prior to launching the Private Equity Advisory Practice, Eric was a senior partner within Chartis’ Strategy Practice and was the head of analytics for the firm. Before coming to Chartis, Eric was a senior consultant to health plans for a large, integrated healthcare consulting and technology firm.
Based in Chicago, Eric is deeply committed to improving access to high-quality healthcare for underserved and underinsured communities. He serves on the Board of Directors of Erie Family Health, one of the largest federally qualified health center (FQHC) organizations in Illinois.
Eric holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Northwestern University.
